Today, the USDA Agricultural Marketing Service announced the dates for the Advisory Committee on Universal Cotton Standards (ACUCS). The purpose of the meeting is to make recommendations to the Secretary of Agriculture on the establishment, revision or change of the Universal Standards for American Upland Cotton.
The meeting will be held in person in Memphis, Tenn. on the following days:
- June 25, 2024, 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. CT,
- June 26, 2024, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CT, and
- June 27, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. CT

USDA re-established the ACUCS in 2023. Committee members represent a broad cross-section of the industry. The committee includes representatives of all segments of the U.S. cotton industry and 20 international associations that are signatories to the Universal Cotton Standards Agreement which is authorized under the United States Cotton Standards Act (7 U.S.C. 51-65).
