The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) today announced the appointment of five members to serve on the American Pecan Promotion Board. These five appointees will serve three-year terms, effective immediately through Sep. 30, 2027.
Newly appointed members are:
- Jake Montz, Wichita Falls, Texas (Central Region Producer)
- Larry Don Womack, Deleon, Texas (Central Region Producer)
- Shannon F. Ivey, Tornillo, Texas (Central Region Producer)
- Evo Soria, Elgin, Illinois (Importer)
- Jeff Worn, Valdosta, Georgia (Importer)
The American Pecan Promotion Board has 17 members, including 10 domestic manufacturers and seven importers. Members can serve up to two consecutive three-year terms.

Since 1966, Congress has authorized the development of industry-funded research and promotion boards to provide a framework for agricultural industries to pool their resources and combine efforts to develop new markets, strengthen existing markets and conduct important research and promotion activities. AMS provides oversight of 22 boards, paid for by industry assessments, which helps ensure fiscal accountability and program integrity.
