USDA Announces Opportunities for USGSA Designation in the Lower Northwest Texas, Southeast Texas; Keokuk, Iowa; Fargo, North Dakota areas

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) announces opportunities for designation for grain inspection services in the Lower Northwest Texas area; the Southeast Texas area; and the areas presently served by the following designated agencies:  Keokuk Grain Inspection (Keokuk) and North Dakota Grain Inspection Inc. (NDGI).

The Federal Grain Inspection Service asks persons or governmental agencies interested in providing official services in the following areas to apply for designation:

  • Lower Northwest Texas area
  • Southeast Texas area,

FGIS also requests comments on the need for USGSA services in these areas.

AMS asks persons or governmental agencies interested in providing official services to the areas presently served by Keokuk and NDGI to apply for designation and request comments on the quality of services provided by Keokuk and NDGI.

Applications and comments must be received by August 19, 2024.

Information, a description of the geographic areas, and instructions for submitting applications and comments were published in the Federal Register, on July 18, 2024.
