Grades of Canned Grapefruit and Orange Juice
- U.S. Grade A or U.S. Fancy is the quality of grapefruit juice and orange juice that:
- Shows no coagulation;
- Has a good color;
- Is practically free from defects;
- Has a good flavor; and
- Scored not less than 90 points when scored in accordance with the scoring system outlined in this subpart.
- U.S. Grade B or U.S. Choice is the quality of grapefruit juice and orange juice that:
- May show only a slight coagulation;
- Has a reasonable good color;
- Is reasonably free from defects;
- Has a reasonably good flavor; and
- Scores not less than 80 points when scored in accordance with the scoring system outlined in this subpart.
3. Substandard is the quality of grapefruit juice and orange juice that fails to meet the requirements of U.S. Grade B.
