- U.S. Grade A is the quality of frozen celery that:
- Possesses similar varietal characteristics in all styles;
- Has a normal flavor and odor;
- Has a good color;
- Is practically free from defects;
- Has a good character; and
- Scores not less than 90 points when scored in accordance with the scoring system outlined in this subpart.
- U.S. Grade B is the quality of frozen celery that:
- Possesses similar varietal characteristics in all styles;
- Has a normal flavor and odor;
- Has a reasonably good color;
- Is reasonably free from defects;
- Has a reasonably good character; and
- Scores not less than 80 points when scored in accordance with the scoring system outlined in this subpart.
- Substandard is the quality of frozen celery that fails to meet the requirements of U.S. Grade B.
