Grades of Frozen Green Beans And Frozen Wax Beans
- U.S. Grade A is the quality of frozen beans that:
- Meets the following prerequisites in which the beans:
- Have similar varietal characteristics (except special packs);
- Have a good flavor and odor;
- Have a good overall brightness that is not affected by dullness (regular process only); and
- Are not materially affected by sloughing.
- Is within the limits for defects as specified in Section 52.2328, as applicable for the style.
- Meets the following prerequisites in which the beans:
- U.S. Grade B is the quality of frozen beans that:
- Meets the following prerequisites in which the beans:
- Have similar varietal characteristics (except special packs);
- Have a good flavor and odor;
- Have a reasonably good overall brightness (regular process only); and
- Are not materially affected by sloughing.
- Is within the limits for defects as specified in Section 52.2328, as applicable for the style.
- Meets the following prerequisites in which the beans:
- U.S. Grade C is the quality of frozen beans that:
- Meets the following prerequisites in which the beans:
- Have similar varietal characteristics (except special packs);
- Have a good flavor and odor;
- Have a fairly good overall brightness (regular process only); and
- Are not seriously affected by sloughing.
- Is within the limits for defects as specified in Section 52.2328, as applicable for the style..
- Meets the following prerequisites in which the beans:
- Substandard is the quality of frozen beans that fail the requirements of U.S. Grade C.
