The Agai-Dicutta Local Food Purchase Program will source and distribute locally and regionally produced eggs, dairy, and produce at the Walker River Paiute Reservation in Schurz, Nevada. This two-year project will increase local food consumption among historically underserved populations while building economic opportunity for local, regional, and socially disadvantaged farmers/producers.
Outcomes include:
- Increase new marketing opportunities for local and regional farmers/producers by 25% compared to baseline data. Sustain purchasing relationship with 50% of farmers and producers after grant funding is expended.
- Increase new marketing opportunities for socially disadvantaged local and regional farmers/producers by 25% compared to baseline data. Sustain purchasing relationship with 50% of farmers and producers after grant funding is expended.
- Extend food distribution 10% beyond current networks to reach underserved Walker River Paiute tribal community. Sustain food distribution to 100% of current recipients after grant funding is expended.
