Periodic Updates for FGIS Inspection Handbooks
When FGIS does the periodic review of the Inspection Handbooks, what is the process for engaging the industry stakeholders regarding their questions and concerns regarding inspection techniques, processes and equipment? Also to identify any inconsistencies or concerns from industry regarding standards and FGIS interpretation of those standards. Additionally, there are grading techniques that may no longer be relevant in today’s commercial trade that remain in the handbooks. Again, there seems to be differences and inconsistencies in steps and methods for grading various types of processed rice – milled, brown and parboiled. Finally, what are the steps needed to be taken by industry stakeholders to affect any updates or change?
