USDA Announces Cotton Board Appointments

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) today announced the appointment of 12 members, 12 alternate members, and two advisors to serve on the Cotton Board. All appointees will serve three-year terms from Jan. 1, 2023, through Dec. 31, 2026.

USDA Announces Appointments to the United Soybean Board

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced the appointment of 19 members and four alternates to serve on the United Soybean Board. All 19 members and three alternate members will serve three-year terms.  One alternate member will serve a two-year term. The terms of members appointed to three-year and two-year terms start December 2023 and end December 2026.

USDA Publishes Country of Origin Labeling Fact Sheets in Six Additional Languages

The United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) has published Country of Origin Labeling (COOL) fact sheets for retailers, suppliers and consumers in six more languages. In addition to English, the fact sheets are now available in Arabic, Chinese, French, Korean, Spanish and Vietnamese on the AMS website.

USDA Reapportions the Cattlemen’s Beef Board Membership and Makes Technical Amendments to the Beef Promotion and Research Order

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) published in the Federal Register its final rule to adjust membership on the Beef Promotion and Research Board to reflect shifts in cattle inventory levels since the last board reapportionment in 2020, as required by the rules governing the board. The final rule was published Nov. 6, 2023, and goes into effect Dec. 6, 2023.

USDA to Reconvene Hearing on Proposed Amendments to Pricing Provisions for Federal Milk Marketing Orders

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) will reconvene the national public hearing to consider proposals seeking to amend the uniform pricing formulas applicable in all 11 Federal milk marketing orders (FMMOs) at 1 p.m. ET, Nov. 27, at the 502 East Event Centre, 502 East Carmel Drive, Carmel, Indiana, 46032. The hearings initially began on Aug. 23, 2023, and recessed on Oct. 11.
