AMS Revises Guidance for the Economic Adjustment Assistance for Textile Mills Program

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) published a final rule that revises 7 CFR 870 which provides guidance for domestic manufacturers that consume Upland Cotton and voluntarily participate in the Economic Adjustment Assistance for Textile Mills (EAATM) Program. The revisions add definitions, codify the participant responsibilities outlined in an existing user agreement, and clarify current management practices.

USDA Publishes Draft Programmatic Environmental Assessment for the Local Meat Capacity Grants Program

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) today announced the publication of a draft Programmatic Environmental Assessment (PEA) for the Local Meat Capacity (Local MCap) Grants program. The draft PEA analyzes and describes the potential environmental impacts associated with the establishment of the program.

USDA Appoints Members to National Dairy Promotion and Research Board

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) today announced the appointment of 16 members to serve on the National Dairy Promotion and Research Board. Thirteen of the 16 appointees will serve three-year terms, effective immediately, through October 31, 2026.  The remaining three appointees will serve the remaining term of a vacant position, effective immediately and expiring October 31, 2024.

USDA Appoints Members to National Fluid Milk Processor Promotion Board

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) today announced the appointment of seven members to serve on the National Fluid Milk Processor Promotion Board. Six of the seven appointees will serve three-year terms, effective immediately through June 30, 2026. The other appointee will serve the remaining term of a vacant position, effective immediately and expiring June 30, 2025.

The newly appointed members are:

Kristen Coady, Kansas City, Kansas (Region 2);

Chris Hackman, Edwardsville, Illinois (Region 4), (partial term);

USDA Announces Appointments to the Hass Avocado Board

The U.S. Department of Agriculture today announced the appointment of eleven members to the Hass Avocado Board. Appointed are three producer members, three producer alternates, two importer members and two importer alternates to fill three-year terms expiring on October 31, 2026, and one vacant importer alternate seat to fill the remainder of the term which expires on October 31, 2024.
