USDA Issues Secretary’s Decision and Referendum Order on Proposed Amendments to California Walnuts Federal Marketing Order

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) today announced the Secretary of Agriculture’s decision to propose amendments to the federal marketing order regulating the handling of walnuts grown in California. The decision requires USDA to conduct a referendum on the proposed amendments, which will be held April 3-21, 2023.

Pre-Solicitation Announcement for Section 32 Purchase of Asparagus (Canned and Frozen)

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) today announced plans to purchase Asparagus (Canned and Frozen) for distribution to various food nutrition assistance programs. Purchases will be made under the authority of Section 32 of the Act of August 24, 1935, with the purpose to encourage the continued domestic consumption of these products by diverting them from the normal channels of trade and commerce.
